We went on a field trip to the nursing home today to sing for the residents and hand out Valentine cards and tissue flowers that the children created in Art class. The Kindergarten class and the Art teacher Mrs. P. also came with us. Our Music teacher Mrs. E. helped us prepare the music!
The children wrote about their experiences in their journals and many of the children asked to share them on the blog.
Tommy: I went to a nursing home, it was so so so fun. I rode with Dylan. We sand and gave Valentines to the people there. I felt very very bad for them. Some didn’t have a family or they couldn’t be by themselves.
Valeria: Today we visited the old people. We gave Valentine’s cards to the old people. The field trip was fun. We sang songs to the old people and they liked it! It’s fun having a field trip.
Derick: The best thing about visiting the nursing home was singing to the old people and giving cards to them. Also, I liked making flowers and giving them to the old people.
L: For a field trip we went to the B. Nursing Home. We sang for all of the people. We smiled when we sang. I think that we sang 6 songs. I liked the nursing home. Everybody liked the songs that we sang. One of the people sang a song that we were singing. I liked it. Then I gave flowers and cards to two people.
